A Hat-Trick of Awards for Bannigan!
A huge congratulations to Stuart Bannigan, who made it a hat-trick of McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month Awards by topping the fans’ votes for January.
The long-serving midfielder ended 2024 by coming out on top in November and December’s Awards and has started 2025 by being top of the pile as well.
David Mitchell, Luke McBeth and Ben Stanway were also on the shortlist of potential winners with Stuart saying: “When I picked up November’s McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month Award, I mentioned that I had not won many of these and here am I now having won three in a row. I believe that my form has been pretty consistent since I returned to the team in October, and I will look to keep that going. I have a good few years left in my career so hopefully I can keep playing well and pick up a few more.”
“It is a good feeling to know that I am being recognised but I would prefer not to have won, and the team had picked up more points in January. Whilst we were disappointed at losing at Ayr, we have to remember it is not all doom and gloom. We are in a top four place with a lot of games to come and a determination to win and catch the teams above us.”
Stuart has chosen the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity - one of our current charity partners - as the recipient of this month’s charitable donation, courtesy of McCrea and on his choice Bannigan said:
“I’ve decided to send the January donation to the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity because of the great work they do for young people from all over the city – it’s a more than worthy cause.
“It is really good that the players who win this award can help make a difference to a charity of their choice and for me to be able to help three different charities is very special.”
