Chalmers Claims February Player of the Month award
Logan Chalmers was the landslide winner of the February McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month ballot with over 82% of the total vote as his impressive recent creative streak was recognised by the Red and Yellow Army.
The winger started the month with a telling contribution as he tapped home Terry Ablade’s cross to earn his team a late point at home against Morton before going on to get a goal and an assist at Falkirk the following week.
In Thistle’s most recent game against Livingston, Logan produced a Player of the Match performance live on BBC Scotland and set up Brian Graham’s first half opener with a tantalising cross which landed perfectly on the striker’s toe.
After receiving his award, Chalmers said:
“It was obviously a very challenging month for the team and the club but I’ve just tried to keep contributing in any way I can whether that’s with goals, assists or working hard defensively.
“Everyone in the dressing room knows that things haven’t been good enough recently and we all need to take responsibility for that. The Livingston game felt like a step in the right direction but we need to continue to get better and start to get more points on the board.”
“I really feel settled at the club now after joining in the summer and that is helping me on the park.”
McCrea Financial Services are again this season providing a charitable donation for each monthly award winner and Logan has picked Cancer Research with the soon to be 25 year old saying: “I think it is terrific that McCrea Financial Services also ask the player to choose a charity to benefit from their selection as a Player of the Month. After discussions with my family I was pleased to choose Cancer Research to receive this month’s donation.”
