Hughes thanks fans after winning Warrior of the Month award for October

Rory Hughes has been voted the McCrea Financial Services Warrior of the Month for October and immediately after winning the award thanked the supporters for voting for him.

The Scotland international winger scored his first two tries at Scotstoun in last week’s bonus-point win over Benetton Treviso and featured in three games during the month, including the memorable win over Leicester Tigers in the European Rugby Champions Cup.

The 23-year-old has been invited to train with the Scotland squad ahead of this month’s Autumn Tests against Australia, Argentina and Georgia.

Speaking exclusively to Warriors TV, Hughes said he was thrilled to be voted the Warrior of the Month for the first time.

 He said: “It feels fantastic and I’m very happy to have been voted the McCrea Financial Services Warrior of the Month for October.

“Everyone has been playing well and anyone could have won it, but thanks to the supporters for voting for me.

“I like the fans to know that I’m a Glasgow boy and basically what you see is what you get and I’m glad they’ve have picked me this month.”
