'Golf 25 Marathon' Charity Challenge!
McCrea Financial Services recently celebrated our 25th birthday and marked the occasion by setting the ambitious goal of raising £25,000 each this year (£50,000 total) for our two new charity partners, Revive MS Support and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
To push our fundraising with the special number of 25, Head of Marketing Ross McCrea will be attempting a unique ‘Golf 25 Marathon’ challenge on Tuesday 28th May, where he will attempt to play a hole at 25 different golf courses in one day, in and around the world-renowned ‘Home of Golf’, St Andrews.
With the day starting very early (4am) in Glasgow, Ross will take the long drive up to Carnoustie Golf Links just north of St Andrews and will tee-off the challenge at 6.30am with what is known as one of the most intimidating and difficult finishing holes in Championship Golf and The Open history; the 18th hole on the Carnoustie Championship Course.
When finished the world-famous 18th at Carnoustie, Ross will set off to complete a hole at 24 other courses including the Duke’s Course and Fairmont Courses in St Andrews, Elie Golf House Club and Burntisland Golf Club, before finishing at Dunfermline Golf Club at an estimated time of 10pm – 15.5 hours after teeing off at Carnoustie – before driving back to Glasgow.
You can find a list of the 25 Golf Courses below; a massive thank you to each course for letting Ross play a hole on the day!
If you would like to donate to Ross’ efforts with this unique challenge to help our fundraising efforts which would be massively appreciated, you can do so on our Revive MS Support Just Giving Page, or our Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity Just Giving Page.
Thank you in advance for your support and be sure to keep an eye out for an update as to how Ross gets on, specifically how many balls he loses across the day!
