McBeth Wins His Second Player of the Month Award of the Season!
After just his fourth month in professional football, Luke McBeth has been voted the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for a second time!
The Jags faithful have picked the 24-year-old once again following an impressive month as part of a defence which conceded just one goal in four matches, recording clean sheets against Raith Rovers, Airdrieonians and Ayr United.
This comes as part of a seven game unbeaten run for the team when Luke plays in central defence where he’s formed a formidable partnership with Aaron Muirhead.
Upon receiving the award, Luke said:
“I’m pleased to have been voted the Player of the Month again but I have to say this time it’s a bit nicer because it’s happened while the team has been playing well and getting results.
“Moving into defence has worked out really well for me. Playing alongside Aaron has been great but also having David, Jack, Harry and Lewis around me has given me the chance to hit the ground running. Obviously the clean sheet numbers speak for themselves and that’s something everyone is keen to continue into the play-offs.”
This season McCrea are making a donation each month to a charity of the player of the month winner’s choice. Luke McBeth’s pick this month is Glasgow’s The Wayside Club, which supports the homeless including those suffering from addiction and social exclusion.
Luke added: “I’m very grateful to McCrea Financial Services for making a donation to The Wayside Club, they do so much important work to support people who really need it. Hopefully the donation and increased awareness can help the charity – it is one I’m very proud to support.”
