Partick Thistle March 2025 McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month Nominees Revealed!
After closing February with an encouraging draw against Livingston, the Jags have taken a significant stride forward under the stewardship of Brian Graham and Mark Wilson in March.
The Maryhill men have taken 10 points from a possible 12 and have kept four consecutive clean sheets in doing so, leaving them well positioned in the play-off places heading into the final five games of the Championship season.
Now it’s time for you to decide who was Thistle’s top performer in March and is deserving of the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award!
Lee Ashcroft
Playing every minute during March, Ashcroft has played a pivotal role in central defence whether it be at the heart of a back three or in a four. Taking over the captain’s armband whenever Brian Graham has left the pitch, he’s recovered possession 71 times for his team during March and come out on top in tussles with some of the division’s most in-from strikers such as George Oakley and Zak Rudden.
Logan Chalmers
The February McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month has continued his strong form into March with two goals and an assist to add to his tallies for this season. Chalmers had a strong hand in Thistle’s win at Hampden against Queen’s Park as he scored a magnificent opener before setting up Alex Jakubiak for the second goal in injury time. He’d follow that up with another opening goal, this time against his former side Ayr United at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill.
Luke McBeth
Having impressed on his return to the team against Livingston at the end of February, Luke McBeth kept his starting role for all four games in March. Playing on the right of a back three for the most part, Luke’s use of the ball has proved pivotal in making the Jags’ new shape function. On top of that, he found himself on the scoresheet in the team’s win over Ayr United as his sweetly struck left-footed volley doubled Thistle’s advantage during the first half of that game.
Dan O’Reilly
Another nominee from the formidable back three that has developed over the past handful of games, Dan O’Reilly had the telling contribution in Thistle’s final game of March as he headed home a crucial winner against Morton at Cappielow. Kyle Turner’s teasing free-kick lured Ryan Mullen out of his goal and O’Reilly bravely attacked the delivery to nod it past the ‘keeper and into the empty net rounding off a strong month nicely for the Irishman.
So, those are your nominees for the March McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award.
Voting is now open and will close at 10am on Thursday.
