Partick Thistle October 2023 Player of the Month Nominees Revealed!
A difficult October saw Kris Doolan’s side depleted with injuries as the squad was used to the fullest.
A trip to the Highland capital as the side took on Duncan Ferguson’s team ended all square with Thistle a little disappointed not to be heading south with all three cinch Championship points. A home match with Dundee United was a game to forget about before a pair of entertaining 2-2 draws against Queen’s Park and Ayr United rounded off the month.
It’s time to decide who has earned your vote for the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for October!
Brian Graham
Our skipper earns another monthly nomination after starting each match throughout the month of October. A number of battling performances to lead the side from the front were rewarded with a goal against Ayr United as Brian reacted quickest to Kerr McInroy’s parried drive to open the scoring in an entertaining match at Firhill.
Steven Lawless
Steven is going for three in a row and kept his key form up during a frustrating month. A tireless performance at Inverness helped to create opportunities for the side but it was towards the end of the month when Steven really shone through. A penalty kick against Queen’s Park saw him bag his 5th goal of a productive season so far before contributing his 7th assist of the season with a corner against Ayr United.
Harry Milne
The flying left back has yet to get right into his stride since recovering from the hamstring injury which ended last season prematurely. An ever-present throughout October, Harry has provided a dependable defensive presence in the team and offering a threat with dynamic attacking play. After a tough opening 45 minutes at Hampden, an energetic run from Harry won the side a penalty before a few days later he netted his third goal of the season in our draw against Ayr United.
Lewis Neilson
The on-loan Hearts defender has grown in confidence with each passing game that he plays in wearing red and yellow. Strong and dependable, Lewis has handled the challenge presented with Championship football with ease and is one of the first names on the team sheet from a defensive viewpoint. Since making his first start for the club at the end of August, Lewis has started every league game in red and yellow, putting in a number of strong performances at the centre of the defence.
So, those are your nominees for the October McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award; it’s up to you to cast your vote to make sure your choice wins the prize.
Voting is now open and will close at 11am on Thursday, 9th November.
