Partick Thistle October 2024 McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month Nominees Revealed!
Off the back of four games unbeaten and eight points from a possible 12 in October, it’s time for Jags fans to select their McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month!
October started with a pair of hard-earned points against the league’s top two, Livingston and Falkirk, with Thistle coming from behind to draw against the Bairns.
Those results were backed up by a couple of valuable victories as a Brian Graham brace settled things against Airdrieonians in Maryhill before Logan Chalmers struck to claim all three points at Hampden against Queen’s Park.
Now, it’s time for you to choose who deserves to be named McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month for October!
Lee Ashcroft
Lee Ashcroft had only started one league game for Partick Thistle at the start of October, but the former Dundee defender was brought back into the team against Livingston and hasn’t dropped out since. In his last four games, Ashcroft has made 25 interceptions and recovered possession on 56 occasions but his most timely touch came in the 91st minute of that game against The Lions when he retreated to the goal line and headed a net-bound shot over the bar to preserve a point for his team.
Brian Graham
After a frustrating start to the league season for Brian Graham, October was the month that he and the rest of the Thistle attack got going. An expertly dispatched finish from 20 yards against Falkirk got him off and running in the Championship and he followed that up with a match-winning double against Airdrieonians. He turned provider to finish the month as he nodded the ball down to set up Logan Chalmers’ decisive strike at Hampden and had it not been for a contentious second half offside call, he might have added a further goal to his tally.
Harry Milne
Nominated for every Player of the Month award so far this season, Harry is amongst the field of candidates again. He played every minute during October and made telling contributions at both ends of the pitch with his best moment coming in the second half against Airdrieonians as his bursting run and cross set up the match-winning goal.
Beyond that, he played a significant part in the team’s goals against Falkirk at home and away to Queen’s Park.
Myles Roberts
The on-loan Watford goalkeeper, who won the August Player of the Month award, continues to go from strength to strength as a Jag. During October he made a slew of impressive saves and added two more clean sheets to his tally taking him up to five shutouts in 11 league games for the club. Sharp stops from shots by Keelan Adams and Jack Turner against Falkirk and Queen’s Park respectively stood out in another formidable month for the 22-year-old.
So, those are your nominees for the October McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award.
Voting is now open and will close at 3pm on Wednesday, 30th October.
