Partick Thistle October Player of the Month Nominees Unveiled
October was Partick Thistle’s busiest month of the season yet with seven games played across two competitions and five of those matches being on the road.
Despite a disappointing run to end the month, the Jags were able to pick up six points - including three from a convincing 5-1 victory over Morton at Firhill - meaning they sit four points off the top of the table heading into November.
Now it’s time to pick one of our two candidates for the McCrea Financial Services October Player of the Month award:
Anton Dowds
Thistle’s number 10 started the month with a goal against Morton at Firhill, pouncing on the rebound from Kyle Turner’s shot to turn the ball home in front of the John Lambie Stand. Later in the month he earned his first league start as a Thistle player in the team’s trip to face Ayr United at Somerset Park, playing the full 90 minutes and scoring our second goal of the game.
Brian Graham
Like Dowds, Brian Graham scored two goals over the course of October with the first one coming in the triumph over Morton. The number nine’s powerful header brought the Jags level after Robbie Muirhead had put the Ton in front and served as the springboard for the 5-1 win. His other goal was the opener away at Hamilton Accies as Thistle took all three points from the ZLX Stadium.
So, those are your nominees for the October McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award.
It’s up to you to cast your vote to make sure your choice wins the prize.
