Second Partick Thistle Player of the Month Win of the Season for Myles!

Following an unbeaten month of action for Partick Thistle, there was no shortage of worthy candidates for October’s McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award.

In the end it was the man at the top of the teamsheet who came out on top in the vote as Myles Roberts edged out Harry Milne, Lee Ashcroft and Brian Graham to win his second Player of the Month prize this season.

The Jags’ number 12 started October with a clean sheet in our goalless draw against Livingston before putting in an outstanding display against Falkirk as he pulled off a handful of excellent saves as Thistle hit back to take a point against the league leaders.

Myles was again in fine form the final game of the month which came at Hampden Park against Queen’s Park with Roberts keeping out Jack Turner and Dane Murray in the opening 15 minutes of the second half to maintain his side’s lead, keep his clean sheet and help secure the three points.

Upon receiving the award, Myles said:

“October was a really pleasing month for the team as a whole because we were able to not just get some results but also find a bit of rhythm as a team from back to front. It’s something that everyone has been working towards and to see it start to show is great.

“The defence have done a brilliant job in front of me in limiting the opposition’s chances, but I know I have to be ready to do my part too and I feel I’ve done that. I’m really settled here at Thistle and I know that’s helping me perform at my best.

“The whole squad is keen to keep our run going because we want to be climbing the table. This weekend it’s another difficult away game but we’ll go there with plenty of confidence and belief and hopefully we can get a good result.”

McCrea Financial Services are again this season providing a charitable donation for each monthly award winner, with Myles choosing Homeless Project Scotland for his donation.

Myles added: “When I won the award earlier this season I chose a cause close to home in London, so this time round I was keen to show support for a charity closer to Partick Thistle. The issue of homelessness is very important to me and one I feel we can all play a part to help address.”

“Homeless Project Scotland seemed a good choice for this month's donation given the work they do. Thanks to McCrea Financial Services for backing another worthy cause.”
