Tuipulotu voted McCrea Financial Services October Warrior of the Month!
Sione Tuipulotu has been named as McCrea Financial Services Warrior of the Month for October, after the centre’s superlative form saw him emerge victorious in a poll of the Warrior Nation.
The Scotland captain’s performances for the Warriors saw him earn 41% of the public vote, narrowly edging out Johnny Matthews to take home the trophy.
Tuipulotu – who recently put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at Scotstoun until at least the summer of 2028 – underlined his status as one of the sport’s premier centres during October, with a series of barnstorming displays in the heart of the Glasgow midfield.
Captain for three of Glasgow’s four matches across the month, he began October in outstanding fashion, barrelling his way through Callum Sheedy for a try in an all-action display away to Cardiff.
After a resolute display in defeat to the Hollywoodbets Sharks in Durban, Tuipulotu was to the fore once more in Stellenbosch, capping a Player of the Match-winning performance with a try in the 28-17 win over the DHL Stormers to end the first block of BKT URC fixtures.
“I was really proud of our performances in October, and especially proud of our trip to South Africa. We showed how much we’ve grown since our last away fixtures in South Africa in the URC regular season and to come away with seven points was an outstanding result.
“Thank you so much to everyone that voted for me, I really appreciate it. I love playing for this club and feel very grateful to have your support every time I pull on the jersey for club and country.”
As part of the award, Sione also receives a donation to a charity of his choice courtesy of McCrea Financial Services, with Sione choosing One Parent Families Scotland for this months donation.
“I’ve chosen to support One Parent Families Scotland. I wanted to help support this charity as we get closer to Christmas, because I know how hard it is to make it special for children with only one income, and I’m happy to do anything I can do to support them.”
