Jonathan has a wealth of experience and knowledge relevant to his role having worked in the Financial Planning sector for the past 20 years. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and has passed the Advanced Financial Planning examinations in his specialist areas - these being AF1 Tax and Trust Planning, AF3 Pension Planning and AF4 Investment Planning.
Jonathan's professional credentials are highlighted further through his Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society and Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
What is The Most Important Thing For You When it Comes to Clients?
The areas of advice mentioned above can be complex and therefore specialist knowledge is essential. I believe that it is imperative to spend time with clients, in order to identify their specific needs and objectives and to ensure that any advice given is personal to them.
Favourite Thing About Working at McCrea?
I really enjoy and appreciate being able to work with such a good team, who are all very supportive and reliable. This makes my job a lot easier!
I have been involved in various charity fundraising events throughout the years, completing an Ironman distance triathlon, an abseil from the Titan Crane and a skydive.
In 2017 I completed the Glen Ogle 33 Ultra Marathon.
In 2018 I ran the London Marathon (and have ran it a second time since) and carried out the Three Peaks Challenge from the 15th to 16th of June, all for our 2018 charity partner Action for Children Scotland.
In 2020 I completed a Garage Ironman over lockdown - despite my best efforts to fully replicate all three elements, there was no swimming in the bath or paddling pool, instead I made do with the fixed rowing machine, a treadmill for running and the use of a turbo trainer for the cycle!
Out of the Office
I enjoy spending as much time as possible with family and friends when out of the office. When I get the chance, I also like to participate in sports activities, particularly golf, running and cycling.
